Pinhole Images

Hand Drawn Image

Hand drawn pinhole photo.jpeg

This pinhole photo was taken outside our art room on a painted wall. I took this photo then after uploading it to photoshop I changed a little bit of the lighting. I did need to do a little bit of cleanup to make it clearer, yet it was not too bad. Then I went to hand drawing the image and I outlined both the hands on the wall and outlined myself who is in the photo. This photo is my favorite of the three pinhole images partly because of the hand drawing, but also because this photo turned out great after cleaning it up.

Vignette Image

This pinhole photo was a little different than most. I took one photo of the hand (left) with the right side covered up allowing no light, then I covered the opposite side and took a photo with the other side. This photo turned out great. Taking this to photoshop I changed a bit of the lightness and exposure to clean it up then added a vignette to the photo. This photo turned out really good and although it is not my favorite of the three it is still really good.

Tone Image

The last of my pinhole photos is my tone image. This photo started with me making a stack of rocks that you can see in the photo. This photo turned out better than I expected and is pretty clear. This photo when taken to photoshop needed minimal clean-up because of how clean the photo was. Then I added some tone to this along with some color. This is my least favorite photo of the bunch, yet I still like it.

Artist Critique

These pinhole images turned out so good. I When we started although we did research I still did not know how these photos would actually turn out because we were making cameras out of cardboard. Along with this process of making the cameras I liked how we were able to decorate our boxes. Then for our first day of taking these photos none of my photos turned out good and most of them were all black because of a light leak. Then after another day I finally got a photo to work and this amazed me. Had I been able to get my photos to work on day 1 I probably would have some better photos. I still have three solid photos that I was able to use, but there is some room for improvement.

The second part of these images is taking them to photoshop. Firstly, after putting out film through the chemicals were got them back and then scanned them into photoshop. After this we had to edit them and make them better. Then I chose my photos to use and edited them. These photos were pretty easy to choose because these were clearly my three best. I struggles in photoshop to start but once I got the hang of it I was able to get some good editing. I think my hand drawn and vignette photos were really good, but my tone image could use some work. The tone image was my first image so my last two were a lot better because I was better in photoshop. So, I think my photos turned out great, but if I was able to do it again I would definitely be able to make it a lot better.
